BTS, Boldness Is The Secret

bold'-nes (parresia, "confidence," "fearlessness," "freedom of speech")

If I got paid every time someone said I’m inspiring, I could probably buy all the roast plantain in East Legon! But honestly, I’m deeply grateful to God for this year. My life has been a series of faith steps—sometimes taken in really tough situations—where I didn’t always know where I was headed.

This year, my main goal was to publish my next book. It’s something I originally planned to do two years ago, but due to some challenges, I decided to make it happen this year—even when my finances weren’t stable. When I finally got the invoice from my printer, I won’t lie—my faith took a hit. Prices had skyrocketed, and I didn’t have that kind of money. I even asked myself, “Who sent me?” Not because I doubted the vision, but because I’ve had to depend entirely on God for the past two years due to a decision I made about ministry. And honestly, it hasn’t been easy.

But instead of backing out, I intensified my prayers—because that was my only solution. I prayed so much this year. I really prayed. Prayer strengthened my faith, so I took a bold step and told the printer to start anyway, trusting that God would provide. And somehow—how I managed to raise the money for the book, the venue, the mini-documentary, and everything else—is a story for another day. This same pattern repeated for every single activity I embarked on this year.

One thing I’ve learned is this: when the Lord gives you an instruction, your job is simply to obey—just go! In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus commands us to go and make disciples. And what did He promise? Not provision, but presence. He said, “I will be with you.”

Sometimes, we don’t see how the provision will come, but God’s presence is always enough. Just go. Just do it. If He tells you to start something, do it—whether people will support you or not, whether they’ll buy or not. That’s His responsibility. Your part is obedience. Boldness is an expression of your obedience to God’s instruction, showing your trust in His presence and provision.

Truth is, life belongs to the courageous. Too often, we play it safe, afraid of what could go wrong. But at this point in my life, I no longer see failure as the end—even if things don’t go as planned, there’s always something to gain in the process.

This year, it took boldness to:

  • Finish my MBA.

  • Launch a newsletter (now with 300+ subscribers).

  • Consult for several brands.

  • Publish my second book.

  • Host my first event (Psalm).

  • Hold my first masterclass (Genesis of Branding).

  • Become a consultant for six brands.

  • Co-found Pemia Digital, a marketing agency.

  • Serve my church in a high position.

It takes courage and boldness to follow God’s will, especially when it disrupts your plans or comfort zone. Acts 4:31 (NIV) says, “After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” Boldness is a result of prayer.

This year, I prayed! And prayer gave me the courage to move forward with everything God placed on my heart.

So, as we step into 2025, let prayer be your lifestyle. Step out in faith. Go! Do it! Be bold! Whatever God is calling you to do, trust that He is with you.

You will do amazing things. Amen!
